Initial construction was started by the Romans, the stone is used for St Paul’s, Winchester and Exeter Cathedrals, Westminster Abbey, Tower of London and Hampton Court. Guided tours tell the history of the caves, including the lives of smugglers, fishermen, lace makers and quarrymen. Not suitable for very young children. Open Easter to October.
